MASNA Student Scholarship Season – Apply Now!
The application period is open for MASNA’s 2021 Marine Science Student Scholarships. The value of these scholarships has seen a substantial increase for 2021, now representing a $7,000 award for one lucky undergrad, and one graduate student in the marine sciences.
“Assisted Evolution” for Reefbuilding Corals
In a race with the accelerating warming and acidification of the seas, marine biologists are attempting to put stony corals on a fast track to becoming more tolerant of water conditions that might previously have triggered their bleaching or demise.

Some addtional updates: Bocas Mariculture reports the successful cultivation of Serranus flaviventris, which didn't make it onto the list, and two accomplishments initially attributed to Bocas were in fact reported by Till Deuss from earlier when he was working with Biota Palau, so these have been attributed to the Biota Group with date information.Matt Pedersen says:
