A slang term originally developed in hobbyist marine fish breeding circles to describe the progression of captive-bred Clownfish towards ever-more extreme ornamental, designer, and hybrid forms. The term references the extreme diversity and ornamental variation found in the modern freshwater guppy, which is not even remotely simialr in appearance to the actual, wild species.
