Florida Issues Call for Anglers to Target Exotics
“Florida is home to at least 34 species of reproducing exotic fish and new species continue to be found, which can impact native fish communities,” said FWC biologist Kelly Gestring. “By removing and reporting nonnative fish, anglers help manage populations of exotic species and help conserve our state’s precious natural resources.”

Public Debut for Aquacultured Yellow Tangs (Video)
Captive-raised Yellow Tangs have finally happened. Researchers at the Oceanic Institute in Hawaii, led by Dr. Chad Callan, successfully broke through a bottleneck in raising Yellow Tang fry.

Some addtional updates: Bocas Mariculture reports the successful cultivation of Serranus flaviventris, which didn't make it onto the list, and two accomplishments initially attributed to Bocas were in fact reported by Till Deuss from earlier when he was working with Biota Palau, so these have been attributed to the Biota Group with date information.Matt Pedersen says:
