ORA Pulsing Xenia
Call it a “weed” if you want, but there is no denying the enormous impact this highly distinctive soft coral has had on the reef aquarium trade over the years. Not only is it extraordinarily hardy (and therefore completely suitable for novice reefkeepers), but additionally it is absolutely fascinating to watch as its tentacles and oral disc contract reapeatedly in a truly weird pumping action. Whether kept by a new hobbyist, or just added to a new tank, many keepers appreciate its unusually fast growth rate. This classic strain maintained by ORA exhibits compatatively taller branches than other Xenia varieties. We suggest placing it on a rock of its own on the tank bottom (especially in tanks with intense lighting). The ORA Pulsing Xenia can thrive at all tank heights under low-medium light levels and moderate water flow. See below for more information. Size and Care Requirements

The Benefits of Farmed Pulsing Xenia
Grown under captive conditions, captive-bred livestock offers several big advantages over its wild counterparts. It tends to be more disease resistant and harbors fewer pests. It is better capable of handling shipping/acclimation stress and therefore is specially adapted to living in aquaria. By purchasing captive-bred Xenia, you support the aquaculture of marine organisms and help to make our hobby more sustainable!
