A: What’s Wrong with this Fish?
18 Nov, 2021
Answer:
Nothing!
In the first place, it is a Yellow Assessor, Assessor flavissimus.
And, CORAL author Scott Michael explains this image he took while on dive trip south of the Equator within the Coral Triangle.
“No, it is not a case of problem buoyancy or a mistake by an overworked editor, the Assessors often swim upside down with their bellies oriented toward overhang ceilings.
“This particular individual is an unusual color form from Papua New Guinea, photographed hovering beneath a rocky ledge.”
Read all about it in the January/February CORAL Magazine, arriving in homes and local retail shops in the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
