Virtually Travel the Amazon

01 Feb, 2013

In case you missed it in the mainstream press back in March, 2012 (like I did) you may not have been aware of Google’s “Street View” project in the Amazon.  For those of you who may never get to visit the Amazon yourself, you can now navigate through the river and rainforest, click-by-click, right from your desk.

Nothing quite like touring the Rio Negro without all those pesky passports, vaccinations, and general travel expenses!

While no substitute for the real thing, it beats the -20F in Duluth, MN, right about now.  For more on the project, check out this NBC News story.  Thanks to Angelfish.net user Anneliese S. for bringing this to my attention!
